"I would generally avoid State Farm now because of their practices. I would 100% avoid Michael Fortado's agency. He's never and I mean "NEVER" in the office. I've asked his people to have him give me a call for general questions at least 10 times...never responded. I've been in the office quite a few times, he's always not there. I'm not 100% sure if the dude actually exists. State Farm is now in the practice of changing your coverage without your permission. I caught them last month and since they didn't have any notes saying I did it or not, they default to saying I did it even though I didn't. Basically, it's their word against mine. I'm not in the business of working with shady companies. Beware and check your policy often. Don't expect any assistance from them, if you need their help. They won't. So much for the old "Good Neighbor" policy."

"Do your research folks! State Farm’s financial rating was recently downgraded to a B, which is honestly pathetic for such an incredibly large property and casualty insurance company. Although they certainly do have competitive rates, you’re getting what you pay for— State Farm will always try and pay you as little as possible for any roof claims (even on RCV). It’s important to understand that they have artificially low insurance premiums, and unfortunately—it’s starting to hurt them financially."
